This past weekend was my favorite celebration of fall in the city, Apple Fest in Lincoln Square. It's the most simple little festival, but it's my favorite because it always happens right as the weather is changing. The air is crisp, the hot apple cider is fresh, and there are blocks of apple and fall related booths.
This year was warmer than last year, so I opted for my new dress from the Loft fall collection. Last year it was so chilly I wore a coat and a blanket scarf! Classic Chicago weather. P.S. have you guys checked out the Loft fall collections? There are some sweaters to literally die for, and so many cute dresses that you could dress up with a blazer for work, or dress down with a cardigan or denim jacket for the weekend.
This year I brought home a bunch of apples so I could make my friends some fresh apple scones with an apple cider icing, and apple butter to slather on toasts and other treats for the rest of the season. Though I left the puppy home this year, she got very excited about the produce I brought home, or maybe she was just happy I was home.
